Azim Premji Field Institutes manage and deliver programs, addressing the specific needs of the state or district. The Foundation is building a strong presence across states in India, to improve quality and equity of education at the grassroots. We work in the areas of teacher-education and education leadership and management. We need professionals who have understanding of Government schools, experience of designing capacity-building programs and facilitating workshops. These State and District level institutes are currently operational at Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad, Medak), Bihar (Patna), Chhattisgarh (Raipur, Dhamtari), Karnataka (Bangalore, Mandya, North East Karnataka), Madhya Pradesh(Bhopal), Pondicherry, Rajasthan (Jaipur, Sirohi, Tonk, Rajasmand, Barmer) and Uttarakhand (Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar, Kumaon).

Communication & Engagement team is responsible for brand management, strategy and implementation of all Communication and Engagement activities of Azim Premji Foundation, including Azim Premji University. The team ensures institutional efforts are multiplied significantly to facilitate strengthening and improvement of the public education system in the country. Building perspective on critical-to-quality issues in education and development among key target groups is a key mandate of the team. Towards this the team is involved in developing films, advertisements, web site, online content, event management, public relations, collateral, reports and publications.

Knowledge Resource CentreBack to top

Knowledge Resource Centre is the knowledge management unit of the Foundation. It is currently organized into 4 work teams - Content Management Team creates and maintains online & face to face knowledge sharing platforms, Analytics & Informatics team works to increase the use of empirical evidence bases by providing access to refined & query-able data sets, Indigenous Knowledge and Language team works to increase all internal teams’ usage of non mainstream knowledge embodied in vernacular languages (academic and cultural) in both textual & non-textual forms, Library team works in all locations of APF to promote the culture of reading & knowledge assimilation among internal APF family & key stakeholders.

The Research Centre at Azim Premji University provides a long-term research infrastructure that has the capacity to plan, coordinate and conduct research in the domains of education and development in India. It provides a space for researchers of various persuasions to dialogue, debate and generate new ways of approaching research problems. The overall research strategy is attentive to the need of developing capability to generate high quality and relevant research on the Indian education and development sectors - it actively supports the democratization of research - in the choice of goals, the people involved, the dissemination strategies and an ability to inform the action of all stakeholders.
