Our catchment area consists of two villages of Shankardah and Dondki. Though currently housed temporarily with the District Institute in Dhamtari we have identified and purchased land for the school in Shankardah.
Our current students come from Shankardah and Dondki. We are providing free transport facility to the students till we move to our permanent location. The selection criterion is one child from one family; student having no father or mother.
The first week of school was focused on only activities - the teachers were getting to know the children, building a rapport with them and making sure that they were well adjusted and happy in school. Once the teachers gauged different learning levels and understood the children’s needs they drew up the lesson plans. Teachers will try to use a variety of teaching strategies which include activities and learning by doing.
The school is also providing mid-day meals also to the students.
