Our school in the state of Karnataka is located in Yadgir district.
The Yadgir school opened its doors on June 2, 2012 with 31 children, 9 girls and 20 boys. The school is located at an equidistance of 4 km from four villages. The children’s parents are largely agricultural laborers and daily wage earners. A few also own small land holdings.
The school at Yadgir has a total of 17 teachers of which 6 are women. The children are in school from 9.30 am – 4.00 pm.
Activities at the school
A meeting of government school teachers with the Block Education Officer (BEO) was held recently in the school. The BEO held the school as an example of a “happy and learning School” to all the teachers present. Parent teacher meetings are also held every month encouraging parents to share their experiences and reddress grievances if any.
