01. What kinds of experiences can I gain?

You would build your experience of the school and community, to enable you to:

  • Do classroom teaching learning.
  • Build an understanding on education bottom up – from the school / village level upwards.
  • Relate to school as a system and the systemic elements that impact its functioning.
  • Understand the inter-linkages of the school with the community, and local governance.
  • Understand the governance, administrative structures of the education system, interact with various departments in the state/district.
  • Understand the need for systemic process for professional development of practicing teachers, participate in activities relating to teacher professional development and support.
02. Will there be an initial orientation?

The initial orientation would be in Bengaluru for a period of about 7 days.

03. Will you provide accommodation during the orientation period in Bengaluru?

Yes, the details of the accommodation will be communicated to the candidates who are selected. 

04. What is the duration of the initial training?

You will go through an initial orientation for about a week at Bengaluru. You will then join at the district location that has been assigned to you to gain an on-the ground understanding of the context and domain. This will be facilitated through a structured learning framework for a year. After this you will continue to be a member of that District Institute or move to any other location where a requirement may exist.

05. Where will I live and work?

You will be based in our District Institutes in the states or UT below:

  • Chhattisgarh 
  • Karnataka
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Rajasthan 
  • Uttarakhand
  • Puducherry
06. Since I will be working in rural India, do I need to know the local language?

Yes, it is very important for you to be able to converse in the local language. Knowledge of Hindi or Kannada or Tamil is required, based on the place to which you are posted.

07. Will Azim Premji Foundation provide accommodation during the training?

Azim Premji Foundation will assist in finding accommodation for you in your location of posting.

09. What will be the compensation offered to me?

The total compensation is Rs. 27,000 per month for a fresh post-graduate. Standard deductions will apply. Benefits are applicable as you will be a member of the Foundation.

10. What support will I receive during the training?

You will have mentors assigned to you for the year, from whom you will receive continuous support.

11. What are the dates of joining?

Batch 1 - July 2017, Batch 2 – September 2017
