The webinar is on ‘Gandhi and Sustainability’. While determining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) United Nations committed itself to promote the integration of the three components of sustainable development — economic development, social development and environmental protection — as interdependent and mutually reinforcing pillars. Gandhiji looked at the material development and resultant prosperity from a different vantage point. He was concerned with self first and lived improving self all life, designing and experimenting in economic, political and social realms. He called them Constructive Programme, Satyagraha and Sarvodaya. The design and experiments along with his lived life explains Gandhiji’s perspective of sustainability. His philosophy is that of building harmony between Vyakti - Individual, Samashti – Society, and Shrishti – Nature.

The talk will be followed by a Q & A session.
